The Knights of the Golden Arrow is a 501(c)(3) non-profit fraternity of Catholic faithful laymen dedicated to embodying the spirit of chivalry—marked by bravery, honor, discipline, and zeal. Members commit to protecting the weak, upholding moral standards, and making personal sacrifices for the Holy Catholic Church.
Named after the Golden Arrow Prayer (revealed by Our Lord to Sister Mary of St. Peter as reparation for blasphemy and the desecration of holy days), the organization seeks to form virtuous, chivalric men who will defend the faith, its clergy, and laity. Its motto is: "Non nobis, Domine, non nobis; sed Nomini tuo da gloriam!" (Not to us, O Lord, not to us, but to Your Name give the glory).
The Golden Arrow emphasizes spiritual formation, sacrifice, and living out Christ's teachings with deep passion for the Church.

The Knights of the Golden Arrow exist to form “strong, virtuous, chivalric men who will step up to defend what they love”—specifically Our Lord, the Eucharist, the Blessed Virgin Mary, the saints, the Catholic faith, and the faithful. It draws its name and inspiration from the Golden Arrow Prayer (revealed by Jesus to Sister Mary of St. Peter for reparation against blasphemy and desecration of holy days). The group promotes a modern adaptation of the ancient chivalric code emphasizing virtues such as charity, faith, fortitude, humility, purity, zeal, accountability, and physical/spiritual fitness. Activities include spiritual formation through saints’ writings and daily reflections, education/evangelization events, parish safety and security (surveillance and event protection), prayer campaigns, processions, adoration, and acts of reparation. Services focus on three pillars: Defend the Faith, Protect the Faithful, and Preserve the Truth.

Membership is structured in ranks (Paige for boys 13+, Squire 15+, Sergeant, and Knight 18+), requiring sponsorship by an existing member or clergyman, a clean background check, fees, retreats, and demonstrated virtue for advancement. Members operate locally under “mission instructions” from higher ranks.
The organization is governed by the Grand Master Knight and the Grand Knight members of the Extraordinary Council.

Men are drawn to it primarily for deeply personal, spiritual, and communal reasons rooted in traditional Catholicism and a desire for purposeful masculinity:
Spiritual formation and sanctity: The order aims to "develop virtuous, chivalric men" who strive to become saints. It provides structured formation in Catholic virtues (e.g., charity, fortitude, prudence, purity, humility, zeal) and disciplines like continual prayer, mortification, and fighting personal sins (such as pornography, viewed as a major spiritual battle). Members see themselves as "warriors for Christ" engaged in spiritual warfare, offering sacrifices for the Church and atoning through the Golden Arrow Prayer. The motto "Non nobis Domine" (Not to us, Lord, but to Your Name give glory) underscores giving God the credit rather than seeking personal acclaim.
Sense of mission and purpose: In a secular modern world perceived as hostile to traditional faith, it offers a clear calling—to protect the Catholic Church, its clergy, laity, doctrines, traditions, and liturgies. Knights defend "what they love" (God, Mary, the saints, the faith) "like a fierce lion" when necessary, while showing gentleness and courtesy in daily life. This appeals to men seeking more than passive faith; it's framed as answering God's call ("Whom shall I send?") with active service, leadership in the family (as priest, prophet, and king), and combating injustice or moral decay.
Brotherhood and authentic community: It fosters fraternity among like-minded Catholic men who share high moral standards, honor, and a "fighting spirit." Progression through ranks builds skills, accountability, and bonds. Higher ranks involve leadership (e.g., mentoring lower ranks, sponsoring new members, receiving "mission instructions"). The emphasis on authenticity—living genuinely as a child of God without pretense—contrasts with what the group sees as modern effeminacy or superficiality. It translates medieval chivalry into practical virtues like integrity, self-discipline, physical fitness, financial responsibility, and emotional maturity.
Chivalric identity and ritual: The investiture, regalia, ranks, sacred vows, and code provide a sense of historical continuity and elevated identity. Members embody bravery, honor, protecting the weak, and gentlemanly conduct in everyday life. For some, this fills a cultural void where traditional male roles feel diminished, offering a path to nobility of character ("strive for increased nobility each day") and role-model status.
Personal growth and legacy: It challenges men to prioritize long-term virtue over short-term pleasures, build resilience, and leave a legacy through faith transmission and defense of the Church. It motivates men by modeling traditional masculinity for their sons, supporting the church and complementary Catholic religious and women's groups.

To join the Knights of the Golden Arrow, you must be a faithful Catholic layman or boy (starting at age 13). The process is structured around ranks and requires sponsorship, vetting, and demonstrated commitment. Here's how it works based on the organization's public details:
Eligibility and Initial Step (Paige Rank)
Age: Boys 13 years and older (men of any adult age are also eligible).
Requirements:
A statement of sponsorship from an existing member of the order or from a clergyman.
A clean background check.
Payment of the Initial Membership Fee.
Once these are received, you become a Paige. You receive membership benefits and begin local "mission instructions" from Knights in your area.
As a Paige, you focus on strengthening your faith, learning the ways and mission of the order, and discerning whether to advance.
Advancement to Higher Ranks
Squire (age 15+): After at least one year as a Paige, you must demonstrate understanding and support of the order's ways and mission. Upon approval, your name is added to the order's Great Scroll of Martyrs, and you take a sacred vow.
Further ranks (Sergeant and full Knight, typically 18+) involve additional formation, retreats, demonstrated virtue, and service. Advancement is merit-based and guided by higher ranks (including a local "Knight Lieutenant").
General Process Notes
Membership emphasizes spiritual formation, chivalric virtues, and commitment to the group's pillars (Defend the Faith, Protect the Faithful, Preserve the Truth).
There is no public online application form. Contact must occur through an existing member or clergyman for sponsorship. The site provides a simple form to contact existing members in the Contact page.
Fees and exact costs are referenced in the Catalog.
All activities stress moral character, background screening, and law-abiding conduct.
The organization is low-profile, and detailed joining logistics (such as exact contact methods or current fees) are not fully published on the website. If you are interested, the recommended path is to reach out to a local Catholic parish, priest, or known member who can provide sponsorship and guidance.
In short, it is not a casual or fully open membership group; it functions more like a traditional fraternity with vetting and formation requirements to ensure alignment with its chivalric and devotional ethos.
