"Every grace that is communicated to this world has a threefold process; for it is dispensed in the most orderly manner from God to Christ, from Christ to the Virgin, and from the Virgin to us. … For from the time when the Virgin Mother conceived the Word of God in her womb, she obtained a certain jurisdiction or authority, so to speak, in the entire temporal procession of the Holy Spirit; so that no creature obtained any grace or power from God, except according to the dispensation [handing out, communicating, apportioning, obtaining, mediating] of the pious Mother herself."
